Kazancı Holding to invest $200 million in Uzbekistan energy distribution
Kazancı Holding is expanding its energy footprint in Uzbekistan by moving into the electricity distribution sector. Following its existing generation capacity of 1,220 MW through Aksa Enerji in Tashkent, Bukhara, and Talimarjan, the group plans to invest approximately $200 million over the next two years to modernize distribution networks across four regions.
During the first meeting of the Fuel and Energy Sector Investors Council in Tashkent, Kazancı Holding Chairman Cemil Kazancı met with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to discuss these strategic plans. The investment aims to improve operational efficiency, reduce technical losses, and ensure a more reliable power supply for consumers.
Building on its 30-year contract to operate the Samarkand region's electricity distribution network via Aksa Elektrik, the company is looking to extend its services to three additional regions. Additionally, the group intends to support local social development by constructing schools in the areas where it operates.
