Kazatomprom cuts uranium output target as market tightens, Uranium Energy shares dip on production start

Kazatomprom, the world’s largest uranium producer, lowered its 2026 production outlook to about 62 million pounds of U3O8, down from an earlier expectation of 85 million pounds. The company said it is shifting its strategy toward “value over volume” as the uranium market remains constrained.

In separate uranium‑sector news, shares of U.S.–based Uranium Energy Corp fell roughly 6% after the company announced the commencement of production at a new facility, indicating market sensitivity to operational milestones.

Both developments highlight ongoing tightness in the global uranium market and its impact on producer earnings and stock performance.
