Kazemattenmuseum welcomes 10,000th visitor of 2026

Ruben, an 11-year-old from Dokkum, has been recognized as the 10,000th visitor of 2026 at the Kazemattenmuseum. He visited the museum on Friday, August 14, accompanied by his grandfather, Tedo Sijtsma, and his uncle, Bote.

This milestone occurred three weeks later than the museum's record-breaking year in 2025. To celebrate the occasion, the family was presented with a bouquet of flowers and hosted at the visitor center with refreshments. As a gift, Ruben selected a book titled ‘Canadezen in Friesland’ from the museum shop.

The museum, located in Kornwerderzand, features bunkers that are part of the historic Atlantic Wall coastal defenses.
