Kazincbarcika police rescue man from burning apartment
Police officers rescued a man from a burning apartment building in Kazincbarcika late on August 20. Upon arriving at the scene, officers Gábor Domos and Martina Dobóczi began evacuating the building. After learning a resident might still be inside, they entered the smoke-filled unit.
Officer Domos kicked in the door to reach a man lying on a bed who appeared unable to leave the premises due to smoke inhalation. Along with Roland Barnóczki, the officers carried the man to safety by his arms and handed him over to medical services. While firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze, one officer received first aid, and another was taken to the hospital for further examination. Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
