Kazım Koyuncu's final request to Volkan Konak revealed
Details have emerged regarding a final request made by the late Black Sea musician Kazım Koyuncu to Volkan Konak. According to radio personality Altekin Erginel, before his death in 2005, Koyuncu asked Konak to support and take in musician Selim Bölükbaşı.
Koyuncu reportedly told Konak, “Take care of this boy, take him by your side,” while also advising Bölükbaşı that Konak was the right person to work with following his passing. Following Koyuncu's death from lung cancer at age 33, Volkan Konak fulfilled this request by inviting Bölükbaşı to join his orchestra, where the musician performed for many years.
Bölükbaşı, who played the kemençe and tulum in Koyuncu's group, has previously expressed his gratitude for having worked with both influential artists.
