Kazımpaşa Primary School celebrates 101 years in Bitlis

Kazımpaşa Primary School in Bitlis has been operating in its historic building for 101 years. Originally established in 1924 by the then-Governor of Bitlis, Kazım Dirik, the two-story building with six classrooms began its educational activities in 1925 under the name ‘Numune Mektebi’.

The school, which later became known as Kazımpaşa, is considered one of the city's most significant architectural structures. Following previous repairs in 1940 and 1988, the building underwent a comprehensive restoration by Eren Holding in 2025 to preserve its historical texture.

Currently, the school serves 86 students with a staff of 6 teachers. School Director Ahmet Kaplan noted that the institution serves as a living memory for the city, bridging the region's historical heritage with modern educational approaches.
