Kazuhiro Nagashima discusses income increase after retirement
Former professional baseball player and current television personality Kazuhiro Nagashima revealed on the TV Tokyo program ‘Sekai no Kyuyo Meisai’ that his current earnings are more than ten times higher than his peak salary during his active playing career.
Nagashima, who joined the Yakult Swallows as a first-round draft pick in 1987, noted that his highest annual salary as a player was approximately 18 million yen. He remarked that during his playing days, he lacked the financial resources to live like a typical professional baseball player. His comments regarding his post-retirement income suggest an annual earnings level exceeding 180 million yen.
