Asian Games: Yamashita wins marathon gold and Boonson ties Asian 200m record

Athletes achieved significant results during the Asian Games in Nagoya. In the men's marathon, Kazuki Yamashita won the gold medal with a time of 2:10:49, marking the first Japanese victory in this event since 2018. Miku Yada secured a bronze medal in the women's marathon with a time of 2:27:56, despite a fall during the race.

In track and field, Thailand's Puripol Boonson won gold in the men's 200m, clocking 19.88 seconds to tie the Asian record. Japan's Haruka Kitaguchi earned a silver medal in the women's javelin throw, while Sae Takemoto took bronze. In the men's 110m hurdles, Rashid Muratake claimed silver with a time of 13.29 seconds. Additionally, Japanese athletes Goto and Umehara successfully advanced to the finals in the men's and women's 400m hurdles heats.
