Kazumichami survey reveals consumer trends in acupuncture and skincare
A survey conducted by Kazumichami Co., Ltd. among 500 women aged 20 to 40 in Japan reveals key trends in healthcare information seeking and skincare habits.
Regarding the selection of acupuncture clinics, 58% of respondents identified search engines like Google as their most trusted information source, significantly outpacing social media (16%) and portal sites (18%). When discovering clinics via social media, 54% of users perform follow-up searches on Google to read reviews. User reviews and real feedback were cited as the most important factor for 62% of respondents.
The study also examined skincare spending and satisfaction. Approximately 69% of women spend less than 5,000 yen monthly on skincare cosmetics. Despite these expenditures, 59% of respondents expressed dissatisfaction with their current skincare routines. This dissatisfaction correlates with a high interest in alternative treatments, as 76% of those surveyed expressed interest in trying beauty acupuncture.
