Kazuya Kamenashi discusses family on Japanese variety show

During an appearance on the Nippon TV variety program ‘Shabekuri 007’, actor Kazuya Kamenashi shared personal stories regarding his upbringing and family. Kamenashi reflected on his childhood living in a small space with his parents and three brothers, recalling how his mother would prepare snacks for him from leftover bread from a local bakery.

In a rare television appearance, Kamenashi’s mother provided a voice message to her son, expressing her pride in the man he has become. Kamenashi revealed that both of his parents have previously battled serious illnesses, noting that his mother’s ability to speak during the broadcast was a result of rehabilitation efforts. He expressed deep gratitude for his family's support throughout his career.

The program also featured a reunion of cast members from the drama ‘Gokusen 2’, including actor Keisuke Koide, who made his first appearance on a terrestrial variety show in nine years.
