Kazuya Niino resigns from TYPE-MOON Studio BB

Kazuya Niino, the studio director of TYPE-MOON Studio BB, announced his resignation from the studio on August 31. Niino, known for his work on titles such as ‘Fate/EXTRA’, ‘Etrian Odyssey’, and ‘Dragon Quest Builders’, stated that he will also be taking a hiatus from game development due to health concerns.

Niino has already stepped down from his role as director for the upcoming title ‘Fate/EXTRA Record’. He expressed regret to fans for not being able to fulfill his duties through the completion of the project and requested that his name be removed from the staff credits.

The development of ‘Fate/EXTRA Record’ is continuing under a new structure. Following the announcement in March that Bandai Namco Entertainment would cease sales of the title, Aniplex has taken over as the new publisher to move the project toward release.
