Kazuyoshi Miura scores at 59 as Fukushima United clinches Emperor's Cup spot

Japanese striker Kazuyoshi Miura, aged 59, netted a goal in the 52nd minute of Fukushima United’s 7‑0 victory over Iwaki Furukawa FC on 26 July. The strike ended a four‑year goal drought for the veteran and secured the club’s qualification for the upcoming Emperor’s Cup.

Miura’s goal added another chapter to his more than four‑decade professional career, which began in 1986 with Santos in Brazil and later included spells in Italy, Croatia, Australia and Portugal. His continued performance at an age where most players have retired highlights his status as a Japanese football icon.
