KB Kookmin Bank boosts debtors' mental‑health counseling with 300 million KRW funding
KB Kookmin Bank announced an additional 300 million KRW contribution to its "Mind Care Counseling Service" for financially vulnerable debtors, raising the programme's total funding to 800 million KRW. The service, operated jointly with the Credit Recovery Committee, provides professional psychological counseling through a network of more than 900 counselling centres and recorded 4,738 sessions between December 2022 and May 2023.
The bank’s "KB Hope Financial Centers"—six locations in Seoul, Incheon, Daejeon and Daegu—already offer debt‑restructuring advice, credit counselling and related financial‑inclusion support. The new funding is intended to expand access to mental‑health services and lessen the emotional distress associated with debt problems.
