KB Kookmin Bank hosts honeybee ecology program at Seoul Forest

KB Kookmin Bank held its ‘K-Bee Project-Honeybee Experience Class’ at the Seoul Forest Honeybee Garden to promote biodiversity conservation and support the recovery of honeybee ecosystems. Now in its fifth year, the project aims to address the declining honeybee population caused by climate change.

Approximately 80 participants, including elementary school students, engaged in educational activities such as observing beehives using smokers and experiencing the honey extraction process. The program was designed to teach the ecological importance of honeybees through expert lectures and interactive quizzes.

Since establishing its first urban apiary at the Yeouido headquarters in 2022, KB Kookmin Bank has expanded its conservation efforts by installing apiaries at Seoul Forest and the Seodaemun-gu Office rooftop, and creating a ‘Bee Hotel’ for wild bees at the Seoul Botanic Park. Additionally, KB Financial Group has contributed to habitat preservation by creating nectar forests in Hongcheon and Uljin.
