KB Securities launches Bakery Goodness to support vulnerable groups

KB Securities has officially opened ‘Bakery Goodness’ in Deungchon-dong, Gangseo-gu, Seoul, to support the economic independence of vulnerable groups. The project provides professional baking and pastry training and employment opportunities specifically for retired middle-aged individuals and multicultural migrant women.

The initiative is a public-private-government partnership. Korea Airports Corporation is supporting the project by covering store rent and the purchase of facilities and equipment, while KB Securities is sponsoring the interior design of the shop.

Having opened its offline store in June following a recruitment and training period, the project received certification as a ‘preliminary social enterprise’ in July. All profits generated from the sale of bread and beverages will be reinvested into the local economy to support new startups, job creation, and assistance for vulnerable populations. The organization aims to achieve official social enterprise certification by 2027.
