KBC Kosovska Mitrovica performs first hip replacement surgeries

The Clinical Hospital Center (KBC) in Kosovska Mitrovica has successfully performed its first hip replacement surgeries. Led by orthopedic chief Dr. Slađan Timotijević, the medical team completed two procedures to install artificial hip prostheses.

KBC Director Zlatan Elek stated that the milestone was made possible through significant investments, including approximately 11.1 million dinars for the prostheses and over 10.8 million dinars for the necessary surgical systems. The facility has also received a modern angio-suite and renovated physiotherapy departments. These advancements are intended to help reduce surgical waiting lists in the region.
