Lee Ho-yeon hits historic walk-off grand slam for KIA Tigers

KIA Tigers player Lee Ho-yeon made KBO League history on the 25th by hitting a walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the 9th inning with two outs against the Lotte Giants at Gwangju-Kia Champions Field. This marked the first time in the league's history since its 1982 inception that a pinch-hitter hit a walk-off grand slam in a two-out, bottom-of-the-9th situation.

Trailing 4-5 entering the final inning, Lee responded to a pitch from Lotte closer Kim Won-jung by driving a forkball over the right field fence, securing an 8-5 victory for KIA. The win allowed KIA to bounce back from a recent loss involving a similar late-inning grand slam surrendered by pitcher Lee Eui-lee.

Lee, who has struggled with a .200 batting average this season, described the moment as the most thrilling of his career. He noted that he focused on the pitcher's forkball as advised by coaches, leading to the historic hit.
