Kim Do-young sets KBO record amid injury recovery

In the KBO League, KIA Tigers player Kim Do-young has made a remarkable return to the field following surgery for a fractured nose sustained on September 9. Despite the injury, Kim achieved a historic milestone during a game against the Hanwha Eagles on September 13, becoming the youngest player in KBO history to record 40 home runs, 100 RBIs, and 100 runs in a single season.

Following his performance, Kim is set to join the national baseball team for the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games. While his recovery has been faster than expected, KIA manager Lee Beom-ho faces challenges in the lineup due to an injury to backup infielder Park Min, who suffered a shoulder dislocation.

Meanwhile, the KBO standings remain highly competitive. KT Wiz maintains first place after a victory over KIA, while LG Twins have moved into third place. The battle for mid-tier rankings intensifies as teams like NC Dinos and Doosan Bears continue to challenge the upper standings.
