KBO League: Kim Seong-hyeon retires after 21 years with SSG Landers

Incheon's SSG Landers celebrated the retirement of Kim Seong-hyeon, a 21-year one-club man, during a KBO League game against the Doosan Bears on September 5, 2026. Kim, who joined the SK Wyverns in 2006, played a pivotal role in the team's championship victories in 2018 and 2022. Following his retirement, he is expected to transition into a coaching role.

In the same matchup at Incheon SSG Landers Field, Doosan Bears veteran Yang Suk-hwan hit his first home run in 161 days. Yang recorded two hits, including a home run, and four RBIs, leading Doosan to a 16-9 victory over SSG and snapping a five-game losing streak.
