KBR Park one-way traffic system to begin August 18 in Hyderabad

The Hyderabad Traffic Police have announced a permanent one-way traffic system around Kasu Brahmananda Reddy National Park (KBR Park), effective from 6 am on August 18. The changes are expected to remain in place for approximately 18 months to facilitate the Hyderabad City Innovative and Transformative Infrastructure (H-CITI) Project.

The project involves the construction of seven flyovers and underpasses, with foundation work already underway for 17 pillars along Road No. 2 in Banjara Hills. Due to construction, carriageway widths in several stretches will be reduced by 30 to 40 per cent.

Key traffic diversions include the closure of the right turn at NTR Bhavan, forcing commuters to use alternative routes via KBR Park toward Road No. 45 or Journalist Colony. Specific lane realignments and new median openings have been implemented to provide access to NFCL, Panjagutta, Begumpet, and various road numbers including Road No. 10, 12, and 36.

To assist the transition, authorities will conduct round-the-clock enforcement in four shifts for the first 7 to 10 days. Officials have also prioritized ambulance passage through continuous flow lanes and installed signal poles to ensure pedestrian safety.
