KBS comedian arrested for allegedly assaulting designated driver

A comedian recruited through the KBS open recruitment process, identified by the surname Kim, has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a designated driver.

According to the Seocho Police Station in Seoul, Kim was booked on charges of assaulting a driver while in operation, a violation of the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes. The incident occurred around 1:00 AM on September 20, when Kim, reportedly in a heavily intoxicated state, allegedly grabbed and shook the neck of the driver while the vehicle was traveling from Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, toward Kim's residence.

Police responded to the report and arrested Kim at the scene. An investigation into the specific circumstances of the assault is ongoing.
