KBS reopens permanent representative office in Vietnam

On October 8, 2026, Vietnam's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Lê Thị Thu Hằng, officially presented the license to reopen the permanent representative office of the South Korean broadcaster KBS in Vietnam.

The ceremony was attended by the South Korean Ambassador to Vietnam, Lee Miyon, and KBS Representative Yang Sungmo. KBS becomes the fifth South Korean media organization and the 31st foreign press agency to maintain a permanent office in Vietnam.

Deputy Minister Hằng noted that the reopening marks a significant milestone in media cooperation, supporting the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and South Korea. She highlighted that South Korea is currently Vietnam's top partner for direct investment, and ranks second in official development assistance (ODA) and tourism, and third in trade and labor.
