KC Luxury arrested in Lagos over alleged N39bn cocaine trafficking
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested Afolabi Kazeem Michael, a social media influencer known as ‘KC Luxury’, for his alleged role as a coordinator in an international cocaine trafficking network. Michael was apprehended at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on August 13, 2026, while attempting to board a business-class flight to Paris.
The arrest follows the interception of 184.5 kilograms of cocaine, valued at approximately N39 billion (roughly $27.7 million), which was discovered concealed in a courier consignment in Lagos. Investigators allege the cartel used Nigeria as a transit point to move drugs from South America to the United Kingdom, Europe, and Asia.
NDLEA Chairman Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd.) stated that Michael used his public persona as a luxury goods dealer and influencer to mask his criminal activities. During the arrest, authorities recovered various currencies, including euros, pounds, and naira, along with expensive jewellery. A search of Michael’s residence in Banana Island, Ikoyi, reportedly led to the recovery of several exotic vehicles.
A second suspect, Lawal Mujab Kehinde, was also arrested for his alleged involvement with the logistics company used to process the shipment. The NDLEA has established a Special Investigation Team to further dismantle the transnational network.
