KC Luxury challenges Lagos court order to preserve properties

Afolabi Michael Kazeem, a businessman and social media influencer known as KC Luxury, has challenged a Federal High Court order in Lagos that preserves his properties. Kazeem is currently standing trial alongside two others regarding an alleged 184.5kg cocaine trafficking operation and money laundering charges.

Kazeem’s legal counsel, Emefo Etudo, argued before Justice Musa Kakaki that the interim order issued on September 25 violated the defendant's constitutional right to a fair hearing under Section 36 of the 1999 Constitution. The defense contends that Kazeem was not served with a hearing notice before the order was granted, preventing him from challenging the application.

The defense is seeking to strike out the proceedings regarding the property order, vacate the existing order, and secure the immediate release of the assets. The application challenging the court’s jurisdiction is scheduled for a hearing on December 3, 2026.
