KCC supports artist Mina Park with new works using restored colors

KCC has provided 23 colors of paint to support artist Mina Park for her new works featured in the Soma Museum of Art special exhibition, ‘From Commemoration to Landscape’. This exhibition celebrates the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and France and runs until February 14 next year.

The support follows KCC’s involvement last year in the restoration and repainting of the ‘Gate of World Peace’ Sasindo (Four Guardian Deities) at Olympic Park. During that project, KCC utilized its ‘KCC Smart 2.0’ AI color-matching system to recreate 40 specific colors based on historical data and colorimetry, as original color information was unavailable.

Artist Mina Park’s new work reinterprets the spectrum of colors used in the Sasindo, connecting them in a U-shaped installation. The exhibition also archives the technical process of the restoration, showcasing the intersection of public art preservation and modern creative expression.
