KCK Executive Mustafa Karasu Calls for Önder Apo’s Freedom and New Framework Law

KCK Executive Committee member Mustafa Karasu told journalists that the PKK’s primary goal is the release of Önder Apo, calling for a decisive step toward his freedom. He warned that the current situation cannot continue, as it would hinder the peace and democratic process.

Karasu also argued that the Kurdish issue should no longer be treated as a security problem and urged the Turkish parliament to adopt a new “framework law” that reflects this stance. He emphasized that disarming alone will not solve the conflict and that a reasonable, logical approach is needed from both the state and the movement.

In addition, Karasu linked the Kurdish question to broader democratic struggles, including the rights of the Alevi community, stating that true democracy is required to guarantee religious freedom in Turkey.
