KDDI to launch Ponta Pass gift cards at Lawson stores

KDDI has announced that Ponta Pass gift cards will be available for purchase at Lawson convenience stores across Japan starting October 6. These prepaid cards allow users to subscribe to the Ponta Pass service without needing a credit card.

Two versions of the gift card will be offered: a 6-month option for 3,288 yen and a 12-month option for 5,480 yen. The 12-month card provides a discount equivalent to two months of the standard 548 yen monthly subscription fee.

To use the card, customers must log in with an au ID and enter the gift code provided on the card. The code must be registered within 180 days of purchase. Please note that existing Ponta Pass subscribers cannot use these gift cards. While available at most Lawson locations, the cards will not be sold at Lawson Store 100, L Minimart, or certain other specific stores.
