KDKMP cooperative manager placements pending in Indonesia

The placement of nearly 30,000 managers for the Koperasi Desa/Kelurahan Merah Putih (KDKMP) remains pending as the Indonesian government finalizes technical preparations. Deputy Minister of Cooperatives Farida Farichah stated that the process is awaiting assignments from the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises. The government aims to place managers in their home regions to ensure they understand local characteristics, a process that requires significant coordination.

In Bali, the Cooperative and SME Office reports that 174 KDKMP units are currently operational, with a majority operating basic necessity stalls (gerai sembako). While some units focus on local needs like cocoa plantations or banking agents, the physical construction of permanent buildings varies by region. Local authorities in Bali are calling for central government support regarding human resources and capital to further expand these cooperative activities.
