Turkish chambers of commerce prepare for regional leadership elections
Various Turkish chambers of commerce and trade exchanges are entering critical election cycles for the 2026-2030 term.
In Zonguldak, Kdz. Ereğli TSO President Arslan Keleş has launched a 'Partner for the Future' campaign, presenting a 2030 vision focused on industrial specialization, cage fish farming, and a new technology center. The upcoming October 3 elections have seen heightened tension, with Keleş criticizing rival candidates for their local commitment.
In Trabzon, the TTSO is preparing for a historic election on October 10, which will see four candidates—Erkut Çelebi, Ahmet Kazaz, Samet Canbakkal, and Ayhan Sürmen—competing for the presidency. Meanwhile, in Manisa, the MTSO will hold elections on October 2 at the Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Fair Center.
Other regional developments include the Edirne Trade Exchange responding to criticisms from candidate Oğuz Kurum, and Kayseri Trade Exchange President Recep Bağlamış calling for high member turnout for the October 4 elections. In Elazığ, Ahmet Ballıca has introduced the 'Bordo Vision' team, proposing 106 projects to drive the city's economic potential.
