Kędzierzyn-Koźle receives 305,000 PLN for sports facility renovations

The city of Kędzierzyn-Koźle has received 305,000 PLN in funding for sports infrastructure improvements. The grant, which covers 50 percent of the investment costs, will be used to renovate locker rooms and sanitary facilities at two municipal stadiums located in Koźle and Cisowa.

The funding is part of the ‘Szatnia na medal’ program, which has been allocated nearly 100 million PLN this year to improve conditions for children, youth, and adults using sports facilities. Deputy Minister of Sport Piotr Borys noted that such infrastructure is vital for combating physical inactivity, stating that approximately 30 percent of children and youth in Poland remain sedentary.

The Ministry of Sport and Tourism plans to continue the program next year with a similar budget and intends to invest in other areas, including school sports halls, full-sized football pitches, and swimming pools. Overall, the ministry and local governments allocate approximately one billion PLN annually for sports investments.
