KEAE marks 10 years with series on war and social sciences

The Center for Academic and Social Research (KEAE) is celebrating its 10th anniversary by organizing a series of events focused on the role of humanities and social sciences in an era of normalized warfare and the erosion of democratic achievements.

The first meeting, titled “War, Knowledge and University: The Normalization of War and the Transformation of Research,” is scheduled for October 22, 2026, at the Historical Archives of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (EKPA).

The discussions will address how modern conflicts are reshaping borders, economies, and identities, as well as the transformation of the rule of law in Western societies. Key topics include the integration of universities and research centers into military-industrial frameworks under doctrines such as “Rearm Europe/Readiness 2030,” the impact of underfunding on the academic community, and the rise of the research precariat.
