Nasarawa State Governor commends DSS for kidnapping rescue

Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has commended the Department of State Services (DSS) following a successful operation to rescue kidnapped victims and dismantle a criminal camp.

The rescue operation targeted a syndicate operating near Atabula village in the Obi Local Government Area. During the raid, security forces dislodged criminals from a makeshift camp and arrested three suspects: Abdullahi Musa, Titus Baka Fidelis, and Sani Adamu. One suspect, Adamu, reportedly received ₦200,000 as part of a ransom demand.

The incident involved the abduction of Joseph Obagwu, who had been taken after attempting to secure the release of his son, a student at the Federal University of Lafia. Security forces recovered cash and mobile phones during the operation. Governor Sule urged citizens to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies to maintain peace in the state.
