Kebbi Governor launches road projects and security aid

Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris has launched several initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure and security within the state. To boost rural connectivity and economic growth, the governor flagged off the construction of 34.7 kilometers of road projects across the Birnin Kebbi and Argungu local government areas. These include a two-kilometer stretch from Tarasa to Birnin Kebbi and a thirty-two point seven-kilometer route from Birnin Lafiya to Gulma-Natsini.

In response to recent bandit attacks in the Danko Wasagu Local Government Area, Governor Idris donated ₦100 million to internally displaced persons (IDPs). He also pledged ₦10 million monthly to support community-based security efforts and announced plans to establish a Forward Operating Base (FOB) to improve response times to attacks. Additionally, the governor promised to rehabilitate the Danko Wasagu township road to facilitate both security operations and local economic activities.
