Kebbi monarch endorses Geneith Health Competition to fight malaria

Alhaji Suleiman Muhammad Mera, the District Head of Lailaba and Sarkin Gobir Lailaba in Kebbi State, has endorsed the nationwide Geneith Health Competition to combat malaria in Nigeria.

During a meeting with the competition’s activator, Aminu Ahmad Zubairu, the monarch called for increased collaboration between traditional rulers, community leaders, governments, and development partners. He emphasized that sustained investment and community mobilization are essential to prevent the disease from regaining ground, particularly in underserved and rural areas.

Alhaji Muhammad Mera highlighted the importance of involving young people in health advocacy. He stated that the Lailaba community would support student participation in the competition, aiming to empower them as health ambassadors who can carry vital prevention information from schools into their homes and wider communities.
