Kebbi Police recover stolen electricity cables and arrest suspect

The Kebbi State Police Command has recovered a significant quantity of stolen electricity service cables in the Bunza Local Government Area. During an operation in the Kara area of Bunza town on August 25, officers seized 10 bundles and seven sacks of cables.

The theft and vandalism of electricity infrastructure had reportedly plunged several communities into darkness and disrupted power supplies to residents. One suspect, Mustapha Abubakar, was arrested during the operation and has since been arraigned in court.

Commissioner of Police Umar Hadejia stated that the command is committed to dismantling criminal networks targeting critical national assets. The police have urged residents to report suspicious activities, promising that all information provided will be kept strictly confidential.
