Kebbi State condemns political violence in Jega
The Kebbi State Government has condemned recent acts of violence and property destruction in the Jega Local Government Area, describing the politically motivated incidents as unacceptable.
In a statement released by Abdullahi Idris, the Special Adviser to Governor Nasir Idris on Communication and Strategy, the government called for a transparent investigation by security agencies. The administration emphasized that those responsible must be brought to justice regardless of their political affiliation or status.
While acknowledging broader security challenges in the country, the government warned that insecurity should not serve as a pretext for violence or attacks on individuals and political organizations. Ahead of the 2027 general elections, officials urged political parties, supporters, and community leaders to exercise restraint, avoid inflammatory rhetoric, and resolve differences through dialogue and lawful democratic processes.
