Kebbi State Governor expands local administration and disability support
Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris has implemented several administrative and social initiatives aimed at grassroots governance and social inclusion.
In an effort to strengthen traditional institutions, the Governor approved the creation of the Buma District in the Dandi Local Government Area. This new district, carved out of the existing Dolekaina District, comprises eight village areas: Tunga Rafi, Gamana, Tudunsan, Gillare, Bump Town, Goraro, Bukki, and Alfarma Kwara. Alhaji Salisu Hakimi has been appointed as the District Head of Buma. Additionally, Nasiru Umar Maizabo was appointed as the Village Head of Marafan Garin Haruna in the Tiggi District of Augie Local Government Area.
On the social welfare front, Governor Idris donated N50 million to persons with disabilities following a solidarity visit to the Government House in Birnin Kebbi. The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to full inclusiveness through the Kebbi State Commission for Persons with Disabilities, stating that the commission aims to harness the potential of individuals with disabilities and integrate them into the state’s development efforts.
