Kebbi State village head killed in bandit attack

Armed bandits, believed to be members of the Lakurawa group, attacked the Lafagu community in the Bagudo Local Government Area of Kebbi State. The attack resulted in the death of the village head, Alhaji Saidu Mujeli, and caused the displacement of residents from the Lafagu and Buya communities.

Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris condemned the killing as “barbaric” and expressed concern over the loss of lives and the abandonment of homes, farmlands, and businesses by fleeing residents. The governor stated that his administration is working with security agencies to identify the perpetrators and is intensifying efforts to strengthen security operations in the affected areas to restore peace.
