Kebon Sirih hosts Festival Jalan Jaksa for Benyamin S Award
The Kebon Sirih sub-district in Central Jakarta hosted the Festival Jalan Jaksa on October 11, 2026, under the theme ‘History, Taste, and Culture.’ The event served as a regional innovation entry for the Benyamin S Award 2026, where Kebon Sirih is one of ten finalists competing in the categories of cleanliness, comfort, and prosperity.
The festival utilized a 1980s nostalgia theme, featuring vintage decorations, music, and traditional Betawi elements such as ondel-ondel performances. Participants and residents were encouraged to wear iconic 80s fashion, including patterned shirts and bell-bottom trousers.
According to local officials, the event was organized through collaboration between residents, local businesses, and the community without utilizing the sub-district or regional government budget (APBD). Officials expressed hope that the festival will become a recurring event to boost local culture and support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and the local hospitality sector.
