Hungary's Museum Night opens dozens of venues in Vác, Kecskemét and Pécs

On Saturday, 20 June 2026, a nationwide cultural programme dubbed Museum Night will run across dozens of venues in Hungary and the Hungarian‑speaking part of Romania. In Vác, the event runs from 15:30 to 23:00 and includes guided tours of the episcopal palace, exhibitions on religious art, a concert by the KOMP Collective and family‑friendly workshops.

Kecskemét will host 32 locations from 18:00 to 24:00, ranging from the Bozsó Collection and the Cifrapalota to the Planetarium and the Magyar Fotográfiai Múzeum. Free admission is offered, while a 1 000‑forint ticket grants unlimited rides on two special museum buses (routes A and B) that shuttle visitors between sites.

In the Székely Land of Romania, museums such as the Székely National Museum in Sepsiszentgyörgy open from 17:00 to 23:30 with free entry for children. The programme features folk dance performances, workshops on restoration, concerts and a joint quiz night among three venues.

Pécs’ Museum Night gathers 18 sites including the Janus Pannonius Museum, the cathedral and a visitor centre. Highlights include stargazing from the cathedral tower, an XXL combined ticket, and extended opening hours that continue into Sunday. The events aim to showcase local heritage, art and science while offering free or low‑cost cultural experiences to the public.
