Kecskemét officials face data requests over Facebook bans

Public interest data requests have been filed regarding the management of official Facebook pages in Kecskemét. The requests, submitted to the Mayor's Office and Kecskeméti Televízió Nonprofit Kft., seek to identify how many users have been banned from these social media accounts over the years and how many remain on ban lists.

In addition to the number of bans, the inquiries aim to uncover who is authorized to make moderation decisions, whether the reasons for these bans are recorded, and if a formal moderation policy exists. The requests also seek information regarding who operates the Mayor's Facebook page, their employment status, and whether public funds are used for its management.

The issue follows previous instances of local political figures and council members reporting they were banned from official municipal social media pages.
