KED presents new football regulations for Greek clubs and media

The Central Refereeing Committee (KED) of the Hellenic Football Federation (EPO) has presented upcoming changes to the Laws of the Game, following directives from UEFA. During seminars held for professional football clubs and media representatives, KED President Stéphane Lanua emphasized that the goal of these updates is to make football more attractive.

Key technical updates include efforts to reduce match interruptions to maintain game flow and fan interest, as presented by Roberto Alonso. Additionally, Paolo Valeri clarified the specific circumstances under which VAR officials will intervene, detailing the expanded scope of VAR involvement based on changes effective from the current season.

On the field, Lanua highlighted the importance of cooperation between referees and team captains, noting a decision that only captains will be permitted to communicate with officials. The committee stressed the necessity of a unified approach to similar incidents and the importance of all stakeholders being thoroughly familiar with the updated regulations.
