Kedah Chief Minister Sanusi Faces Race‑Remarks Controversy

Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor attracted criticism after remarks in a speech that were interpreted as stoking racial division. Opposition leader Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil of Pakatan Harapan said the comments reflected a broader pattern within PAS of using ethnic sentiment for political gain, and urged Sanusi to change his approach.

Sanusi defended his statements, insisting they were factual references to the history of Tanah Melayu and that excerpts had been taken out of context. He warned that anyone manipulating his words for political purposes would be sued and said he would file a police report. He called on the public to watch the original video to see the full context of his remarks.
