Kedah fertilizer supplier director released on MACC bail

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (SPRM) in Kedah has released a managing director of a fertilizer supply company following a four-day remand. The individual, a man in his 30s, was detained to assist in an investigation regarding delays in the distribution of compound fertilizer (Baja 3) to farmers.

The investigation was initiated following complaints from the Malaysian Farmers' Association (PeSAWAH) concerning delays affecting approximately 40,000 farmers within the Muda Agricultural Development Authority (MADA) region, covering roughly 100,000 hectares.

While the suspect has been released on SPRM bail, he is required to report to the Kedah SPRM office monthly and must attend further questioning if summoned. The probe is being conducted under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009.
