Kedah Menteri Besar Sanusi faces dispute over gambling license ruling

Kedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor is facing criticism following a Federal Court decision that prevents the state administration from refusing to renew gambling and lottery operator licenses. Sanusi suggested that the responsibility for whether gambling activities continue in Kedah now rests with Prime Minister and Finance Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

In response to comments from DAP Member of Parliament Ramkarpal Singh, Sanusi remarked that he would invite the MP to give lectures to Muslims regarding the prohibition of gambling. Meanwhile, Tunku Nashrul Abaidah, Communications Director of the Kedah State Leadership Council, criticized Sanusi for shifting blame to the Prime Minister, stating that the legal setback resulted from the state administration's own decisions which the court found to be exceeding state jurisdiction.
