Kedah's Temasya Orang 2026 draws 550,000 visitors

The Temasya Orang Kedah (TOK) 2026 cultural festival was held at Stadium Darul Aman in Alor Setar from 30 July to 2 August. Organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) together with the Kedah state government, Kedah Tourism and private partner Nabilah Bahrin Group, the four‑day event showcased the state’s arts, heritage, gastronomy and traditional games. It attracted an estimated 550,000 visitors, including international guests, making it one of the largest cultural tourism gatherings in Malaysia.

Raja Muda Kedah, Tengku Sarafudin Badlishah, officiated the opening ceremony and toured the exhibition areas. Officials highlighted the festival’s role in supporting the Visit Malaysia 2026 tourism campaign and in preserving intangible cultural heritage such as the traditional Mek Mulung theatre.
