Kedarnath Yatra helicopter services to resume September 15
Preparations are underway in Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand, for the second phase of the Kedarnath Yatra. Helicopter services in the Kedarnath Valley are scheduled to resume on September 15, following an inspection by a Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) team in the first week of September.
District Magistrate Vishal Mishra stated that administrative monitoring is on high alert to address potential damage and implement necessary upgrades. Safety protocols have been heightened across fragile Himalayan zones due to recent climatic concerns and flash floods in neighboring regions. The Kedarnath Temple is expected to remain open until November.
Despite monsoon challenges, pilgrim numbers have seen an increase this year. So far, approximately 1,465,370 pilgrims have visited Kedarnath, while 1,654,263 have visited Badrinath.
