Kediri officials promote community values and student safety

In Kediri, local government officials are focusing on community engagement and student welfare. Mayor Vinanda Prameswati attended the Haul Masyayikh at Al Ishlah Islamic Boarding School, where she emphasized the importance of following the exemplary values of religious scholars and maintaining synergy between religious leaders and the government to support regional development.

In a separate initiative, the Kediri City Government, the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), and local police have launched the “KAWAL” program (Collaborate, Supervise, and Protect Children). This program aims to improve road safety for students during peak school hours. Officials are encouraging parents to prioritize supervision or use public transportation for middle school students to mitigate traffic risks and ensure safe commutes.

Additionally, to commemorate Santri Day, Mayor Prameswati participated in traditional games, including a sarong-based gobak sodor competition. The event was intended to preserve local traditions and strengthen social bonds through community activities.
