Kediri Regent orders data-driven approach to stunting and regional priorities

Kediri Regency Regent Hanindhito Himawan Pramana has directed regional heads and sub-district heads to ensure that local strategic projects and priority programs are implemented based on accurate field data.

A primary focus of the directive is the reduction of stunting rates. While data shows a downward trend—from 8.04% in December 2025 to 7.47% in August 2026—the Regent emphasized that these figures must reflect reality rather than being reported merely to please leadership. He instructed sub-district heads to monitor actual numbers in their respective areas to prevent new cases or growth in stunting.

In addition to health, the Regent addressed several other priority sectors:

- Health: Improving the quality of services at all health facilities and maintaining Universal Health Coverage (UHC), which reached 97.88% in September 2026. - Education: Increasing teacher competence and formalizing educational innovations through regulations to improve national education standards. - Social Welfare: Addressing inaccuracies in poverty ranking data (Desil) to ensure welfare assessments match the actual conditions of citizens. - Infrastructure and Food Security: Coordinating regional strategic projects to support local stability.
