Kediri Regent proposes bottom-up approach to improve social assistance data
Kediri Regent Hanindhito Himawan Pramana has called for a reform of poverty data to ensure social assistance (bansos) reaches the correct recipients. The initiative aims to address discrepancies in decile data that do not reflect the actual economic conditions of residents.
To improve accuracy, the Regent proposed a bottom-up data collection method involving local community leaders, specifically neighborhood heads (RT) and community heads (RW), who possess direct knowledge of their residents' economic status. He emphasized that data correction must be based on real conditions rather than personal preferences.
The local government is also advancing a digital social protection system. As of October 28, 2026, 54,605 residents have activated their Digital Population Identity (IKD). Additionally, over 5,000 individuals have been registered as social protection agents to assist in proposing eligible citizens for aid.
